Although Shailene Woodley has been acting in Hollywood since 99' it wasn't until her recent releases of The Fault In Our Stars
and the Divergent
series that she's exploded onto the scene. You may remember her as the petulant teen in The Descendants
, or even from her stint on The Secret Life of the American Teenager
, but lately we've been smitten with her red carpet looks. Today we take a look at our favorites from the last few years. Feminine Gowns
How gorgeous is this red lace Valentino gown and vanilla-toned Marchesa beaded dress? Somehow Woodley manages to pull off the feminine/bold look at one red carpet event, then totally change course and embody a totally different vibe at the next. Classic White
Maybe it's her impeccable posture in these classic white gowns with clean lines, but we just love both the cream-colored Valentino gown on the left, and stark white Zuhair Murad dress with gold accents on the right. On someone else, the long sleeved, high necked Valentino dress might look stuffy, but Woodley wears this classic number with ease.
Proving that she can be just as fashion-forward as anyone else, Woodley has shown an affinity for jumpsuits when on the red carpet. Between the two, we love the styling on the BIRD for Juicy Couture jumpsuit on the left, especially with her long locks and black pumps. The Elie Saab suit on the right is also gorgeous though, although with the gold heels we'd probably have chosen a lipstick shade with less of a coral tone and more a classic red with blue undertones. Unexpected Showstoppers
Just when we think we know what to expect from Woodley, she throws in a curveball, like this sweet vintage-inspired floral dress from Dolce & Gabbana, or this sheer gold gown with dramatic lines from Eli Saab Couture. Playing With Shapes
Somehow Woodley also manages to take silhouettes that could be considered shapeless, and give them life, is another reason we adore this fashion powerhouse. Whether it's this patchwork dress or black and white halter dress (both from Calvin Klein), Woodley is an undeniably eye-catching anytime she graces the red carpet! Midriff Muse
Last, but certainly not least, Woodley proves she can rock a trend with the best of them. This Slate green piece from Lyn Devon seems both structurally interesting yet classic, while the basic black top and colorful blue skirt from Emilio Pucci is equally gorgeous.
