Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and with it comes a whole slew of added pressure. The dinner and a movie date is the old standby, but if you're more into doing things that aren't so typical and a little easier on your wallet, have no fear! We here at For Elyse have compiled a list of great Valentine's Day ideas that aren't going to break the bank, but will still have you enjoying the holiday. Star Gazing
What could be more romantic than heading out to your local observatory and checking out the night sky? The starry sky is the perfect backdrop for a romantic date. Pro tip: Bring some hot chocolate in a thermos, and a warm blanket to cuddle up and look at the stars. Puppies!
Taking your date to the local human society to play with some puppies or kittens is a free way to interact with some adorable little furry animals, and has the added bonus of the cute factor. Trying to impress someone new? Who could resist a puppy or kitten? Pro tip: Make sure your date isn't allergic to animals beforehand to sidestep any possible health issues. Play!
Try getting your date involved in a little casual competition by playing video games with them on your game console. A little competition can help fire things up, and will be a natural way to relax those date jitters. Pro tip: Be sure to pick a game that you know they'll like. If they aren't into video games, try some older ones like Super Mario Bros. Cook!
Is there anything more attractive than a significant other who can really cook? Make your date dinner, something you know they'll love, and you'll have them (figuratively) eating out of the palm of your hand. Pro tip: If they're a little adventurous, try getting them involved too. It's a really nice feeling to create something together. images courtesy of Nola
