Bright, cheerful shades of yellow
have been spotted on celebs everywhere, making it one of this summer's hottest trends. A little bit of yellow can punch up any outfit, and if you're really bold, it can even be the main focus.
Below are some celebs rocking yellow separates
, which bring a bit of fun to all their ensembles.
looks sweet and feminine in her yellow circle skirt, while Elizabeth Olsen
is rocking a more edgy take on yellow in her chunky cardigan paired with colored skinny jeans and black ankle boots. Either of these outfits would be perfect as an everyday relaxed look to go to brunch, or to do a bit of mid-morning sightseeing!
Here's Jessica Alba
toeing the line between lady-like and rocker chic in a yellow motorcycle jacket, printed sun dress, colorful heels, and an oversized bag. This is a great look for a job interview or a business meeting, as it's pulled together and professional looking, though the addition of the edgy motorcycle jacket allows her personal style to come through!
On the left we have Dree Hemingway
rocking a 70's folk look in her marigold flared leg pants and long fur collared coat, and on the right we have Jessica Alba
again, wearing a more relaxed outfit featuring yellow in the form of a slouchy sweater. Both of these ladies are using yellow as a pop of color to brighten up otherwise dark and fairly simple outfits, turning them from a bit boring to playful and chic.
And here's both Kristen Dunst
and Miranda Kerr
stepping out in bright yellow blazers--perhaps the same blazer?--though styled quite differently. Kristen paired hers with printed yellow cigarette pants and a white blouse buttoned to the neck, giving her a whimsical, menswear inspired look, while Miranda paired hers with an ivory pencil skirt and a printed top, which has distinctly business meeting vibes. However, both are appropriate for a variety of occasions.
Little yellow dresses
are also popular right now, and are easier to add to your wardrobe if you don't want to buy a bunch of separates.
is looking lovely in a 1960's-esque satin sheath dress with beading that reminds me of cute little honey bees. She's accented the dress with a pop of hot pink in her summery sandals and lip color, which brings this look into the modern era.
Here are Kerry Washington
and Emmy Rossum
wearing very lady-like dresses in similar shades of yellow. Like Dianna's dress above, both have a distinct vintage vibes, which has me thinking the color looks great in vintage style cuts!
is not afraid to rock a lot of yellow at once, wearing a yellow dress with matching accessories--including her clutch, sunglasses, and pumps. She's accented with another bright color--orange--but looks completely comfortable and happy to stand out in a crowd.
again, in a fun lemon print sun dress, looking ready for a long day at a music festival! Nicole Ritchie
is also in a relaxed sun dress with a full skirt and high neck. This dress is perfect for a variety of activities--from shopping to meeting a few pals for lunch.
For a more formal take on yellow, here's Amy Adams
in a long neon yellow gown, accented with gold and cream accessories. This dress is certainly not for the faint of heart, the color being so distinct and hard to wear, but Amy looks super chic and comfortable in it. The column style cut also makes her look taller!
Hopefully you've seen some inspiring looks in yellow, and are looking to add some to your own closet!
