Well kids, it’s that time again. We here at For Elyse see so many fabulous styles sent to our store that it can be overwhelming, but once a week we try to wade through the loveliness to handpick an outfit composed of our favorite pieces.

Outfit Of The Week

 For me, this week it was all about unexpected splashes of color and hardware that was simple, yet made a statement. I love the variety of color that Flying Monkey has been sending us in their pants, with everything from tea green to gold snake print, to an inky black that gives off a rocker leather vibe.

 Seeing as how our theme this week is “green,” I pulled these teal Flying Monkey skinny jeans and paired them with the Sis Sis All of a Stud-en top. I love the cap sleeves, which are embellished with little gold beads, giving it a sweet but slightly hard edge. Oversized envelope-style clutches have hit the scene in a big way lately, and the MMS Take The Reins Clutch complemented the other pieces perfectly.

Outfit Of The Week

 I love mixing soft details with a hard edge, so to bring out the hardware of the clutch and top, I added the City Classified Delva Sandal in Black. It’s Easy Being Green

Spring is here, and with it comes one of our favorite holidays here at For Elyse: St. Patrick’s Day. It’s especially fitting this year, because Emerald is the official color of the year, according to Pantone, and we couldn’t be happier. Not sure how to wear green? Don’t despair, just read on and let For Elyse save the day.

Gwen Stefani is a master of pairing clothes and accessories together that reflect the hard/soft aesthetic. I love the way her camo pants lend a tough edge to this otherwise soft look of a sweater with her mint handbag. To try this look, I suggest the Star Stud-ed Clutch from our site. Another master of accessories is actress Ali Larter (Heroes) who paired a black leather motorcycle jacket with a soft forest green scarf. Spring Trend Alert: Pretty in Pastels

With the new year right around the corner we’re all excited about the spring fashion trends, especially pastels! These subdued hues give off light, feminine vibes that can be styled anywhere from flirty to fierce with the right accents. This isn’t a groundbreaking trend either, pastels are spring staples just like florals and light layers, so feel free to indulge in some cool pastels this season! The spring runway shows were bursting with gentle shades of pink, blue, lilac, and green on pants, dresses, bags, you name it. New York Fashion Week Fav’s: Moncler Gamme Rogue

In the spirit of Halloween, I saved the best for last in our series of favorite designers from Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week! One of the wackiest and most acclaimed shows was by Moncler Gamme Rouge in his couture resort wear Spring 2013 Fashion Show! Rouge put on a show that literally catapulted the audience into the future with Japanese inspired looks that had a touch of mod. All of the looks, including the bell boys, reminded me of the 90s movie”The 5th Element” in regards to the fashions worn by the futuristic flight attendants. If ti was the year 2506 and i was going on vacation to a total tropical island in the Andromeda galaxy, I would certainly rock all of Moncler Gamme Rouge‘s looks! Quite inspiring I must say!

New York Fashion Week Favs: Louis Vuitton Spring 2013

Who knew an escalator could become a work of art? This much can be said for the always surprising Louis Vuitton Fall 2012 Runway Show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! Models filed down one of the four escalators two by two in similar looks as if they were descending in a high scale mall! A very new and different approach to a typical fashion show, Vuitton did not disappoint! Not only was the setting of the show intriguing, but the clothing was very striking as well! Bright lemon and lime colors were thoughtfully mixed with bold checkered graphic prints in separates and dresses. A very mod inspired collection, simplicity and structure were a key factor along with the play of neutrals and color. It was a delightfully fresh take on the mod style and I wanted to wear every single look! Hats off to another amazing fashion show from Louis Vuitton!

Red Carpet Season: Trends from the Emmys

Glitz, glamor, and don’t forget to roll out the red carpet! Its my favorite time of the year: the beginning of the red carpet season has just been kicked off with the Prime Time Emmy Awards! TV’s most infamous stars were dressed to impress during the Los Angeles event! What I love most about the Emmys, is that it always takes place at the end of the summer when the weather is still warm and the trends are still as hot as ever!

One of the best trends that was on the Emmy Red Carpet had to be the cool Citrus Breeze that was oh-so-refreshing! Leading ladies such as Julie Bowen, Claire Danes, and Julianne Moore wore more of a neon citrus while ladies such as Kaley Cuoco and Leslie Mann wore gowns with an orange tint! Needless to say, these trends spoke loud and clear on the red carpet and was a breath of fresh air!

 

If you wanted to see a fish out of water, you definitely saw it on the red carpet this year! Many stars chose the “Fish of the Sea” trend that sported many blue hues that looked as deep as the ocean! Stars like Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Murad and Julianne Hough wore gorgeous ocean colored gowns with incredible detailing that resembled fish scales! Zoe Dechanel and Heidi Klum were as romantic as a rippling reflection in pale pastel blues, while Hayden Panettiere looked like a mermaid caught in a fisherman’s net that left me breathless!

Red is always a great color to wear to an award show because of its strong presence and feminine touch! Many stars looked  absolutely ravishing in red like Kat Dennings in a ruched deep red gown by J. Mendel and Cat Deely in a structured bright red couture gown from Tadashi Shoji. But the stunner of the night in my opinion was definitely comedic actress and writer, Tina Fey, who wore a dark maroon Vivienne Westwood dress that featured a gold embroidered bodice that looked straight out of 18th century Madrid!

 

The Emmy Awards did not disappoint as far as the red carpet went! Celebs came dressed to impress and there were hardly any worst dressed this year! Way to step it up! We can’t wait for the rest of the red carpet season to pick up and dream about wearing all of those designer gowns!

Friday Favorite: Fall Colored Denim

The best part about the fall season is the collection of colors it brings from the changing of the leaves, misty mornings, and spiced treats. For fall fashion, we are all about the colored denim! Purples, oranges, reds, and even a few vibrant pastels; fall colored denim is your staple piece that can fit into any occasion!
