Love is in the air and you should give your nails some love this Valentine’s Day! Here is one of my favorite How To’s for heart shaped nails! You just need a few things and a little patience for the sweetest nail art design that will have you head over heels!

All you need is:

3 different colors of red or pink nail polish

1 package of binder ring protectors

Step 1: Paint you nails all one color and let dry.

Step 2: Use two of the protectors to create the top of a heart and place at bottom of the nail

Step 3: Pain the top part of the nail and let dry

Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the top part to created a layered in pink look!

Get creative with your colors and you will have so much fun with your love-ly nails!

Red Carpet Trends: 20s Style Waves

Get side swept for this Fashion Do’s: Retro 20s style waves! One of the biggest trends in fashion that is an up-and-comer is the 1920s era influence, especially for the Spring 2013 and Pre-Fall 2013 runways. One of my favorite examples of the 20s style was at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards where so many celebrities wore the side swept lose waves that are so romantic. Stars like Heidi Klum, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Isla Fisher, Megan Fox, and Rachel Weisz rocked this look and its super easy to do!

Here is a simple How-To from my favorite blog The Beauty Department that shows you step by step of hot to get 20s style waves. All you need is a medium barrel curing iron, a clip, a comb, and some hair spray.

1. Clip the top half of your hair up

2 Curl the bottom layer with the curling iron, making sure to curl your hair in inside curls (toward your face)

3. Curl the rest of your hair in sections and make sure it is all curled the same way (inside)

4. Spray your curls with hairspray and let them set for a minute or two

5. Take your comb and gently brush out your curls, start to brush them so they form the same ascending shape

6. Once you have brushed them all out, curl the ends so they all consistently curl under

7. Finish off with hairspray and you have been transported back to the retro age!

Inner Child: Photograhper Lissy Laricchia

You are never to old to use your imagination and why not step into the mystical wanderings of Canadian photographer Lissy Laricchia! The child inside of Laricchia certainly comes out in her photos and in her collection of pictures calle “Let’s Play Around,” you can’t help but let your inner child out!  The collection below reference Alice in Wonderland, but she is known for referring to classic children’s literature such as “Where the Wild Things Are,”  along with many infamous fort building activities! Let’s just say, the collection is so whimsical and will make you want to revert back to being a kid again!

Blogger Spotlight: Cotton Candy Outfits

Hey For Elyse fans! I’m Morgan from Mama Loves Papa. I am a wife and mom of four kids (crazy, I know!). I love fashion, photography, and doing projects for my 1950s home. I put together a few cotton candy inspired outfits for you. I love pastels for Summer and cotton candy reminds me of the fair, which is always the mark of the beginning of Summer in my hometown.
Outfit #1 is reminiscent of a vintage carnival cutie with the Sis Sis Iced Tee Tank in Cream and Alythea Shorts in Mustard! To accessorize I added shoes, a necklace, and sunglasses that are from my closet.
The next outfit is perfect for an afternoon date at a local fair in the Free Bird Helena Beat top in Navy with white skinny jeans and shoes from my wardrobe.
Outfit #3 is perfect for a firework show after a long day of candy, games, and rides! Vintage plaid top paired perfectly with the Miss Me MK Bootcut Jean! Great for keeping cozy with a special someone during the show!
We just bought a new house and while taking these pictures I realized I can’t find my favorite wedges. I think I need these. Thank you SO much, For Elyse, for having me here! Blogger Spotlight: Mamalovespapa at For Elyse Fashion Show

ForElyse Fashion Show

By Morgan Fairchild of Mamalovespapa Blog

A few weeks ago I was a part of a fashion show with For Elyse for the annual In Motion Fitness (the gym I go to) Member’s Appreciate Party. This was the first year that they’ve had a fashion show as a part of the event and it was such a hit. (And, I might have asked Eric how it felt to be married to a runway model because I’m cool like that.)

For Elyse is a local Chico brick and mortar store and recently they’ve opened an online shop. They have a great selection of clothing and accessories and I know that every time I go in I’ll find something (or a lot of things) that I love.

Check out the For Elyse shop and blog. You can also see more pictures from the fashion show on their Facebook page.
