Tree of Life (2011) saw Jessica Chastain rocket to fame. This statuesque beauty showed a completely different acting range in The Help, playing the “outsider,” Celia Foote. I’ve loved watching her grace the red carpet at each award show, and look forward to any and all movies she appears in. I even lifted my “no horror movies” ban a few months ago to see Mama, wherein she played a tattooed, dark-haired character with a chip on her shoulder, which is a far cry from any roles she’d held up until then. Never one to appear less than polished, Jessica is one of my favorite style icons, and one of the few celebs I have yet to see make a poor choice on the red carpet.
For this year’s Academy Award ceremony, she wore a custom Armani gown with a mermaid silhouette in a soft copper color which flattered both her skin tone and hair color beautifully. The design house described the dress as having a “geometric, lattice-patterned mesh overlay of shimmering white sequins and Swarovski crystals.” She wisely kept the accessories subdued, wearing vintage diamond earrings and a gold and diamond bracelet, both by Harry Winston. She accessorized with cherry red nail polish, an ivory bangle, cute daisy stud earrings, and (of course), white cat-eye sunglasses with rose colored lenses.
